Swimming to success

A Wolverhampton pupil has been recognised as an up and coming swimmer at a national award ceremony. Matt Richards from the Royal School in Wolverhampton attended the British Swimming Awards after being nominated for the emerging swimmer award.

Matt was accompanied by Marc Spackman who is currently acting as the Royal’s elite swimming coach. Marc is a former Great Britain Olympic swimmer who had a successful swimming career spanning 10 years.

A representative from the Royal Wolverhampton School Swimming Club said, “The nomination was recognition for their hard work, but it could not be done without the great support from parents and lots of others working in the background.”
